      The Assyrian Aid Society-Iraq has completed the implementation of a project of renovation and supplying (7) green shops in Bakhdeda and Bartella in Hamdaniya district, supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). In which, the project aimed to promote economic activities in the region, supporting the economic initiatives, increasing livelihood opportunities, and contribute to encouraging the permanent return of the displaced people in the region.

      In the last stages, greenhouses and halls were made for plants, roofing and casting the walkways, and applying ground tiles, as well as the installing of water network for each green shop, supplied with a water pump and tank. In addition to installing of lighting and supplying of generator for each green shop.

      It is worth noting that the implementation of the project started on July 20, 2021 and was completed on Sep. 19th 2021.

      It is hoped that the Assyrian Aid Society will be implementing similar activities to support youth and families to increase job opportunities in the region and other areas of our people, if appropriate support is available.
