With the support of the American Assyrian National Federation (AANF) and in coordination with the Assyrian Aid Society of America (AASA), the Assyrian Aid Society-Iraq implemented the project of the construction and maintenance of irrigation channel for the village of Belmend, in Nahla area, at a length of (325 m).

 

The project began in May 2018 and lasted for about 15 days. The project included the excavation work of the ground then spreading crushed stone, casting the base and the construction of the side walls and the plastering works for channel’s body.

 

Mr. Ashur Eskrya, President of the Assyrian Aid Society-Iraq, inspected the project from its inception until it was inaugurated and the irrigation water was pumped to irrigate the village's lands.
