AAS-Iraq receives a delegation from the Russian Orthodox Church
On Mar. 29th, 2018, the President of the Assyrian Aid Society-Iraq Mr. Ashur Eskrya, received a delegation from the Russian Orthodox Church, headed by Father Hierimonk Stefan, Secretary for Inter-Christian Relations of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Father Samano Khoshaba, Pastor of the Assyrian Church of the East in Moscow and Mr. Evanji Arzantsev, The Russian deputy Consul General and Mr. Daniel Baranichenko, Third Secretary of the General Consulate of the Russian Federation in Erbil, in the presence of Mr. Ninos Odisho, Member of the Dohuk Governorate Council and Mr. Farid Yacoub, Syriac Education Supervisor.
This visit came to view the situation of our people in light of the circumstances experienced by our people after displacement from the cities and villages, and ways to alleviate this suffering, especially after the liberation of the areas of the Nineveh Plain of from the terrorist group of ISIS, as well as the meeting discussed the highlighting on difficulties and obstacles facing the rest of the displaced of our people and the needs that must be provided to the returnees.
