President of AAS-Iraq, meets with the Senior Coordinator of the Office of Refugees and Displaced Persons Affairs at the US Embassy and the International Refugee Organization in Baghdad
On Jul. 23rd 2017, Mr. Ashur Eskrya, President of the Assyrian Aid Society-Iraq, met with Mrs. Diana Abdeen, Senior Coordinator of the Office of Refugees and Displaced Affairs, at the US Embassy in Baghdad.
On the same day, Mr. Eskrya also met with Ms. Francisca Vigaud-Walsh and Ms. Daryl Grisgraber, Senior Advocates at the International Refugee Organization.
During these meetings, the president of AASI discussed the situation of the current displaced people and their areas, the possibility of their return to the areas where they were forcibly displaced after being expelled by criminal terrorists, as well as the services and infrastructure and the large damage of the houses and possessions as a result of occupation and the need to find the necessary support of rebuilding the damaged and destroyed homes and provide basic services to secure the return of the displaced people.
