Mr. Ashur Sargon president of the AASI met in Erbil on November 14, 2016 the Canadian delegate Mrs. Zaynab Alyouf and other members of the Canadian delegation. Mr. Jevara Zaiah deputy secretary of ADM and Mr. Kaldo Ramzi; person in charge of the foreign affairs relation in ADM also attended the meeting. The two sides discussed the ongoing operation on Nineveh liberation and the future of the region after liberating the region from ISIS terror and the process of encouraging the peaceful coexistence of the people. Also, they discussed the future of our people in the region and the threats they face. Our delegate had asked the Canadian side to recognize the genocide that was committed against our people and help to establish an internationally protected area for our people in Nineveh plains then establish the legal frame for the creation of Nineveh plains province to neutralize it from the local tensions between different parties that will encourage the IDPs to return to their homes and stay in there.

 

Mr. Ashur emphasized the importance of protecting the indigenous people of the region and facilitated their return to their homes by reconstructing the region and help their NGOs to deliver the necessary humanitarian aids till they can fully depend on themselves in day to day life.
