AAS-Iraq participates in the 15th Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues of United Nations

By invitation of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Peoples, the Assyrian Aid Society-Iraq participated in the 15th Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues at the United Nations building in New York city, which hold from May 9^th - 20^th 2016, the AAS-Iraq's delegation were represented by Ms. Nada Benyamin and Mrs. Diklat Georgees from the Assyrian Aid Society of Canada, where the participation of AASI included delivering a speech explained the suffering of indigenous peoples and the genocide they are facing in Iraq and Syria by the terrorist group of Daash (ISIS), and ways to return the displaced after the liberation of their areas. as well as the delegation met, during its participation, with a number of representatives of indigenous peoples and their organizations and representatives of the participating countries in the forum.
