His Holiness Patriarch Mar Georgis III Saliwa Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East received a delegation that included Mr. Ashur Eskrya President of the Assyrian Aid Society-Iraq, Dr. Chris Seiple President of Institute for Global Engagement and a delegation representing the Church of China, included Fr. Huang, Fr. Cui, Fr. Paul and Fr. James, on Thursday Mar. 24th 2016, His Holiness, during the meeting, addressed the role of the Church of the East in spreading Christianity to China in the sixth century AD,  in the meanwhile the Church of China's delegation presented to His Holiness a gift "copy of the monument that was left by the Assyrians in China". The meeting discussed also the suffering that our people are going through, the genocide and the humanitarian situation for the displaced in Iraq and the region. The visiting delegation expressed its solidarity with the Christians and their desire to provide the support.
