In his recent visit to Dohuk, Mr. Chris Seiple president of the Institute for Global Engagement, accompanied by Mr. Ashur Eskrya President of the Assyrian Aid Society-Iraq, in addition to Mr. John Gallagher visited the Dohuk Provincial Council and met with Mr. Fahim Abdullah Hamo, Chairman of the provincial council, by the attendance of Mr. Lenos Odisho member of the provincial council, representative of our People from Alrafidein List.

 

Mr. Fahim discussed with visiting delegation on maintain efforts of providing assistance to our displaced people in addition to the Yazidis who have fled from of their areas of living, which has become under the control of terrorist of ISIS.

 

Later after Mr. Seiple went to Semel area, where he met with a number of displaced families in the Church of the Martyrs, as he stood at actual location of massacre in Semel, which was carried out by the Iraqi army on Aug 7th 1933 against our people, where more than 5000 of Assyrian people were killed.

 

It is noteworthy that the Institute for Global Engagement & the Fund cradle has previously supported AAS-Iraq in implementing of many relief programs in order to alleviate the suffering of our people displaced in many areas of the provinces of Dohuk and Erbil.
