The Assyrian Aid Society - Iraq participated at the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on the fourteen session, held on April 20th – May 1st 2015, where the delegation of the Assyrian Aid Society - Iraq was represented by Ms. Shoushan Tower and Ms. Nora Michael the members of Assyrian Aid Society of Australia as well to Mona Malik Vice President for Assyrian Aid Society of America, who joined later to the AAS's delegation to participate in the meetings of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, where Miss Nora delivered the speech of our Society during the forum, on April 23rd 2015, as well as our Society set up on a side session on April 27th at the (Salvation Army Auditorium in New York) as part of the activities of the Forum, by the attendance of representatives of the participating countries in the Forum to highlight the reality of our People whom facing the genocide at the hands of the terrorist groups.

 

AAS-Iraq also highlighted through its statement which was delivered by Mrs. Mona Malik, on April 29th 2015, on the conditions of our people (as an Indigenous People) who faced the suffering from genocide, uprooting from the historical lands & the displacement internally and externally, under the attacks of terrorists of ISIS on the living areas of our People in Iraq & Syria.
