The Visit of AASA's President to Iraq
The president of Assyrian Aid Society of Iraq Mr. Ashur Eskrya received Mr. Ashur Yoseph the president of the Assyrian Aid Society of America with his father, Mr. Georges Yoseph in Erbil International Airport on Oct 6th, 2013, by the attendance of Mr. Boutros Isho, the member of the Assyrian Aid Society of Iraq.
at the evening Mr. Ashur Yoseph visited headquarters of the Assyrian Democratic Movement in Erbil, where he has been received by Mr. Aram Amman the responsible for Erbil branch, along with Mr. Ninos Pithyo the former secretary of the Assyrian Democratic Movement, Mr. Idris Mirza leading member in the movement, Mr. Nazar Hanna, Director General of Assyrian Education in Erbil. The meeting was attended by the President of the AASI and Mr. Edwar Benjamin and Mr. Oder our representatives in Erbil.
Where they talked about the conditions of the country, as well as AAS-A's role in supporting of various projects, the Assyrian Education Process, relief programs and the support for our People at home.
On the morning of Monday, Oct 7th 2013, Mr. Ashur Yoseph and Mr. Ashur Eskrya visited Dr. Esmat Mohamed Khaled, the Minister of Education in Kurdistan region, by the attendance of Mr. Nizar Hanna, general manager of the Assyrian Education. Where the meeting discussed the process of Assyrian Education and government support and how to enhance this support, and the provided support of the Society and its role in the continuation of the process and its future in the region, where the meeting was fruitful. The visiting delegation thanked the Minister for the interest and support provided by the government to the Assyrian Education Process, wishing the continuation of this support for the serving our People at home.
On the evening of the same day, Mr. Ashur Yoseph was received at the headquarters of the Assyrian Aid Society /Iraq, by members of the Society (Christina Khoshaba, Patrus Isho, Younan Lazar, Eramia Sargon and Evet Isho) , where they discussed the development of the Society in Iraq and its activities and the future support, as Mr. Ashur Eskrya thanked the Assyrian Aid Society in America on their support since 1991 until now, where the continuation of this support is the guarantee for the continuation of the process of Assyrian Education and dormitories as well as supporting our People in homeland.
Thereafter, the delegation headed to the headquarters of the Assyrian Democratic Movement, where they have been received by Dr. Wahid ablahed the responsible for Duhok branch, Mr. Jacob Georges the member of the new Parliament of Kurdistan from Alrafedain list, and a large number of movement members in Duhok, as Mr. Ashur Yoseph presented his congratulations to Mr. Jacob Georges, who has elected as a member of the Parliament of Kurdistan.
