AAS-Iraq participates in a meeting with USAID at the US General Consulate in Erbil
On Monday, Sep. 30th 2019, at the headquarters of the US Consulate General, a delegation from the Assyrian Aid Society-Iraq represented by Mr. Patros Isho and Mr. Eramia Sargon participated in a meeting with USAID - Office Transitional Initiative with attendance of Mr. Steven Fagin, US Consul General in Erbil, in addition to the participation of employees of the USAID/OTI and representatives of the Reconstruction Committee in Bartella.
The meeting included the signing of the agreement on a project between the Assyrian Aid Society-Iraq and the USAID / ICRI, which includes the rehabilitation for a number of shops in Hamdaniya district - Baghdida, where the delegation of the AASI pointed to the importance of the project in promoting the social and economic cohesion of the components of the Nineveh Plain, the need to provide possible support for returnees in the Nineveh Plain.
For their part, the US Consul General and USAID staff stressed the importance of continuing to provide the necessary support for the empowerment of minorities in the Nineveh plain.
